Semla
Semla
The semla (plural: semlor) is a gorgeous Swedish bun of the kind traditionally eaten throughout Scandinavia on Shrove Tuesday (or "Fat Tuesday"), the day before Lent, when we stuff our faces with all the good stuff before forgoing fats and sugars and other treats for the Lenten period. Here making a return for Easter weekend, It is a soft cardamom-spiked brioche bun, hollowed out and filled with almond paste, sweet cream and in this case homegrown rhubarb poached with orange. One is (possibly?) enough!
Organic flour, yeast, sugar, butter, vanilla, rhubarb, milk, egg, sea salt, cream, cardamom, almonds
Please note that I use nuts, seeds, milk and eggs in some recipes baked in my kitchen. Allergens are marked in the ingredients list for each product in bold, but please email me if you have any questions.
