ABOUT

Sarah has been running a micro bakery for her local community since just before lockdown, when it proved to be the ideal way to give folk really good, fresh bread on their doorsteps. She loves turning just a handful of the best natural ingredients into pure edible pleasure, because everyone deserves good bread! There’s something rather wonderful about starting with just flour, water and salt and transforming it into delicious and nutritious bread a world away from supermarket fare. No nasties cross this threshhold!

Sarah has baked, cooked, and preserved things in sugar and vinegar and spices her whole life, and before moving to Cornwall spent 10 years running a smallholding and growing veg and fruit, alongside keeping pigs, bees and chickens. This is where the beautiful speckeldy hen logo originated a lino cut made by a friend and modelled on Mrs Stephens, the first of a line of handsome layer hens.

Rosewall Bakery put down roots in Clarence House early in 2022, and is named after Sarah’s cottage in St Buryan.
