Collection: CERAMICS

Karoline Orvain is a local ceramicist working very much in an artisanal handmade process that complements my baking. Her works are original, earthily beautiful and have a functional purpose in their aesthetic too which means they can be used and enjoyed as part of the household. Serving dishes, containers for ingredients, showstoppers with flowers and party platters.

"I have always been interested in the beauty and poetry of handmade and object in nature that does not conform. My response in my céramique is to reject the uniformity of mass production and to celebrate the asymmetry of hand crafted materials. All my pieces are unique and evidently constructed without the use of machine. I am also fascinated by wabi-sabi philosophy and avoid embellishments and decorations adhering to a “less is more “approach to my creative endeavours."

I am thrilled to offer a few of her precious creations for sale alongside my bread and bakes. Or I can put you in touch with her directly to see more of what she makes, and talk about her craft.
