I've employed an extensive panel of tasters to critique my development of a new treat to the bakery, and I'm very happy to say that the verdict is a unanimous "they're delicious!" So the pastel de nata, or Portuguese custart tart, makes its first official appearance this week, and very good it is too. Order in advance to be sure of securing yours; they are in very limited supply as I have rationed my first investment into the special tins that produce the classic nata shape. Also on special this week are anzac biscuits, cheese twists, cheesy oatcakes, a white farmhouse loaf and the return of the malthouse sourdough.
Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd Feb pick-ups or drop-ins this week 2-5pm (though I'm there from Wednesday onwards so you can always take your chances, and I do like visitors!)
